The UN agencies have welcomed the news that the threat of famine in the Gaza Strip has been averted, following the October ceasefire and improved access for humanitarian and commercial activities. However, they warn that the gains made are fragile and could be reversed without increased and sustained support. The latest Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) analysis indicates that no areas of the Gaza Strip are currently classified as being in a state of famine.
