The study investigates multi-centennial internal variability in the North Atlantic region over the past millennium, as observed through proxy data. The findings suggest that this natural variability could potentially drive additional warming over Europe in the future, beyond the effects of anthropogenic climate change. However, the study acknowledges the inherent uncertainty in predicting the long-term impacts of these complex natural climate processes.
